This page describes the portrait of the IZB.

The Institute of International Cooperation in Education IZB is an institute of research and development (R&D institute) at PH Zug. Its key areas focus on the international dimension of educational issues and in particular interculturality and internationalisation in education as well as education in development collaboration.
As R&D institute at a university of teacher education, IZB is committed to provide a scientific focus both when generating and making use of scientific evidence in practice.

Doctoral degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Zurich; master's degree in Social Anthropology (major), International Law (minor) and Religious Studies (minor) from the University of Zurich. Professional experience as lecturer and researcher at the Teacher Education University Zug, as researcher in the field of social impact assessment in the post-Tsunami Indonesian province of Aceh and as primary and secondary school teacher at different schools in the canton of Zurich. Currently involved in pre-service and in-service teacher education as well as in different research and development projects, focusing on the following areas of interest: social boundary making, social justice in and through education, dealing with social inequalities and migration-related diversity, intercultural sensitivity, potentials for professional development by experiencing mobility stays, teachers with a so-called immigrant background and diversity among teachers.
