MAS Intercultural Coaching and Supervision

The Master's programme MAS Intercultural Coaching and Supervision enables individuals, teams and organisations to accompany and advise in a culturally reflective way. The MAS programme consists of three CAS and the Master module. In cooperation with the Coaching Centre Olten, the IZB is responsible for the Master module in MAS Intercultural Coaching and Supervision as well as the CAS Intercultural Coaching.

Individual and Group Coaching in a multicultural environment

In today’s globalised world the intercultural dimension needs to be taken into consideration. In many companies, teams are often compiled of different nationalities who have to communicate on a daily basis with their clients, branches or head offices located outside Switzerland, and during long or short stays abroad. The specific questions related to this topic require a type of coaching which takes cultural factors into account. Based on previous know-how in the field of coaching or counselling, in this CAS the participants will learn about the principles, methods and practical tools which will help  to guide and support the clients to deal with inter- and  transcultural issues in a solution and resource-oriented way.

Course Objectives
The participants will acquire the necessary competences to be able to handle inter- and transcultural coaching situations in a cultural reflexive and solution-based manner. They will learn about different coaching situations and specifications with regard to interculturality which will include coachings of…:

  • multicultural teams
  • individuals in multicultural teams
  • individuals who are planning a long or short stay abroad
  • expatriates in Switzerland

Target group
This continued professional development course is intended for professionals who provide consulting and counselling services. It includes employed or self-employed professionals who are involved in personnel, organisational, strategic or company development, education, human resources management, marketing, ICT and others. The language of instruction is German.
