Financial Support
Within the Swiss-European mobility programme (SEMP), PH Zug provides incoming students with a grant. The amount depends on the country of origin (see table). The grant is calculated for a fix duration of 5 months per semester. Students from countries that don't take part in the Erasmus+ programme are also eligible for a grant through the Swiss-European mobility programme.
| country | amount per month | total |
|---|---|---|
| DK, FI, GB, IS, IE, LI, LU, NO, SE | CHF 380 | CHF 1'900 |
| AT, BE, BG, CY, CZ, DE, EE, EL, ES, FR, GR, HR, HU, IT, LT, LV, MK, MT, NL, PL, PT, RO, RS, SI, SK, TR | CHF 440 | CHF 2'200 |
| Worldwide | CHF 500 | CHF 2'500 |
Students who travel sustainably (train, bus, car pooling) from their home country to Zug will get an additional Green Travel grant of 200 CHF. In addition, the PH Zug finances a travel allowance of CHF 250 for guest students under the age of 25 and CHF 300 for students aged 25 and over. This can be used to pay for a half-fare travelcard (“Halbtax”), for example. With this card you can benefit from reductions on all public transport (train, bus, tram, and even some boats and cable cars) in Switzerland. Also, a Zuger Pass Travelcard could be a good (additional) option. Please check the SBB website yourself for suitable (temporary) offers
Living expenses in Switzerland are relatively high, and PH Zug will do what it can to help visiting students contain their costs, for example by providing them with affordable housing.
