The municipality of Hünenberg is very well connected to the Zugerland Verkehrsbetrieben or Zug Public Transport Corp. (ZVB). It takes only 10 minutes by bus to go from Hünenberg village to Cham railway station and about 20 minutes to the town of Zug.
In  2004, the urban railway running between Rotkreuz and Zug/Baar, which cut the duration of the train journey considerably, was inaugurated. To start with, Hünenberg had two stops, one at the Zythus and the other at the Chämleten residential development. Later extension variants should provide for connections of the local railway with the Bösch/ Rothus industrial and commercial zone. The long-term objective is to connect Hünenberg village to the urban railway.

The Bösch/Rothus industrial and commercial zone lies in the immediate vicinity of the Rotkreuz motorway exit (about 1 km). From here, one is within approximately 15 minutes from Lucerne and Zug. Zürich-Kloten international airport is approximately 45 minutes away.
