Biodiversity

General facts and information
Biodiversity is understood as the diversity and variety of animals, plants and mushroom. Species-rich and versatile plant populations promote a diverse animal population. The plants serve as food as well as a natural habitat of the animals. Cairns, old wood or withered trees, biotopes, etc. are ways to preserve natural habitats.

Biodiversity at Schluechthof
At the Schluechthof, fallow grass strips in the Chamau, a biotope and this flower pasture serve to promote biodiversity. The bee hotel is also intended to help wild bees to colonize and multiply.
This flowerpasture is mowed only after flowering. The insects need the flowers as a source of food. Additionally, a strip for animals is left as a retreat option.
