Direct payment

The parliament adopts a new agricultural policy every four years. This is mainly by Article 104b of the Federal Constitution. The basic statement in this is:

  • Secure supply of Switzerland
  • Care of the cultural landscape
  • Natural resources conservation
  • Decentralized settlement of the country
  • Promotion of production that is praticularly: close to nature, environment and animal-friendly production

In order to achieve the agricultural policy objectives, there are direct payments, so that services to the public are also compensated. The agricultural policy is based on the following 5 pillars:
