Courses of the Centre for Oral Communication (ZM)

The Centre for Oral Communication (ZM) offers a range of in-house courses for students and staff, as well as continuing education courses for teachers, school administrators, and other interested parties. These courses are offered through the Continuing Education Department at the University of Teacher Education Zug (PH Zug) and are also available to groups upon request. If you are interested in having a course taught for staff at your school, please contact the ZM team.

The ZM’s Continuing Education Courses include the following topics:

  • Speaking for the listener – Listening for the speaker
  • Promoting and assessing competence-oriented listening
  • Forms, variants and further development of the Class Council
  • The art of everyday conversation in schools
  • Speaking Skills – focusing on the art of conversation
  • Dialogue – conversing competently
  • Dialogue – coping with communicative challenges in the classroom
  • Finding your voice and making it heard in class 
  • Focus on the art of explaining and presenting

In addition, the ZM regularly contributes to in-house teaching at the PH Zug. Courses taught include the foundation courses «basics of academic work», the research and development course «Professionalising Public Speaking» (developed by Judith Kreuz and Eva Göksel), and the training of peer speech-coaches (Judith Kreuz).
